ChristineHoliday time again. Hopefully over the last few weeks you have been able to log on to have a look at our new @home portal. With the phasing out of Silverlight, one of the software programs needed to run our portal in the past, our team at Kip McGrath Head Office has developed a HTML5 version for us.

With the introduction of the HTML5 version of our program, more students will be able to access their Kip McGrath program from home. This has the advantage of students being able to do their homework online, do @home holiday lessons and being able to catch up on missed lessons without coming into the centre.

HTML5 is easily accessed and each student has been given an information sheet outlining how to access it. This version is compatible with desktop and laptop computers, as well as IPads and Tablets. If you have any questions or difficulties, please call your centre.

So use the time over these holidays to go online and become familiar with our new portal. I hope you all have an enjoyable break and we will see you again in the week beginning Monday 18th July.

How to spell words with ie or ei:

When the sound is ee

it’s i before e

except after c

For example, ‘believe’ has the sound ‘ee‘ so its i before e. ‘Receive’ has the sound ee but it is after a c, so it is e before i. Words like ‘weight’and ‘height’ don’t make the sound ee, so the rule doesn’t apply.
