Here are two things that will help your child with their Maths…
There are many building blocks in maths. Two of the most useful ones we found is mastering Times Tables and understanding what Algebra means. An understanding of these 2 topics will greatly assist your child with their maths journey through primary and high school.
- In the first short video I shall explain how to use a Times Table chart and the 4 little known ways in which they can be used to help other areas of your maths.
- In the second short video I shall explain what Algebra is and why this topic is not really that scary – just another way to think about numbers.
It’s so easy for your child to fall behind in Maths.
All it takes is missing one or two concepts and then they don’t have the foundation for everything that follows.
Also, because maths is so cut and dry (there’s a right and wrong answer for every problem) – your child can quickly lose confidence when they can’t understand something.
Problems with maths can spiral out of control very quickly and are often not picked up on until your child falls in a heap.
The good news is once your child learns the concepts they have missed; they usually catch up at twice the rate their class is moving. It takes focused attention and perhaps a different approach more suited to their learning style, to help them fill their knowledge gaps and catch up to their classmates.
Once your child starts to achieve in maths their confidence and self esteem will grow across this and other subjects.
