Educational Apps
I am often asked to suggest games and apps that students can use at home that are both fun and educational. I have no personal experience with using children’s apps but I found an article called ‘Trending Apps in Australia For Kids’ which I thought would be good. Here is the link:

I went through each one and I have included a link to a short video for my favourite three:
Christine Hawkins
Owner KMEC Hunter
(Endless Reader)
(Eggy Phonics)
(Toontastic)
Another source I found which recommended educational apps is www.goodschools.com.au
Here is a link to a short video of my favourite one:

Below are a few tips to help you decide the best apps for your child. I would love to hear your feedback on which ones your children liked best.
5 Tips for Buying Children’s Apps
- A good app is the perfect combination of education and entertainment.
- Explore and play with your child.
- Select games that are developmentally appropriate for your child.
- Select apps from trusted, reliable sources.
- Determine whether apps are trying to market to your child.
Apps labelled “lite” or “free” often attempt to make money by trying to sell virtual items while a child is playing a game, or link to another related app that requires payment to download.
