Health Message
Here is some information on what we are doing at Kip McGrath to keep our centres as healthy as possible. As we head into cold and flu season, the health advise issued by the Department of Health, on what to do to protect ourselves from the Coronavirus, applies to protecting us from colds and flu as well.
While it is not always possible to avoid catching a virus, there are some steps you can take to reduce your risk of picking one up.

- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water. If washing your hands isn’t possible, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser instead. We have hand sanitiser and/or anti-bacterial wipes in every centre so we will be encouraging students to use them when they enter the centre.
- Avoid touching your mouth, nose, eyes, especially if your hands aren’t freshly washed.
- Cover your face with a tissue if you cough or sneeze, and dispose of used tissues promptly. If tissues are unavailable, cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow instead of into your hand.
- Disinfect surfaces that you touch frequently, such as doorknobs, taps, refrigerator handles, and toys. Here at Kip, we wipe down student tables and computer keyboards after each session with disinfectant spray.
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle to keep your immune system in top shape. This includes eating a well-balanced diet, exercising regularly, trying to keep your stress under control and getting adequate sleep.
- Stay away from people who are sick. We ask that if your child is unwell that you keep them at home. When they are unwell, they are not able to attend to their learning and they pose a risk of spreading their sickness to others. If they are at home and are feeling well enough, we can offer online lessons. Depending on numbers, we should be able to offer online tutoring in their normal session time. These lessons will have a tutor online so it will be very similar to their in-centre lesson.
If you have any questions or concerns, please have a conversation with your centre manager.
